Obituary

Mother Freddie Mae Harrison was the third of eight children, born to Mr. David and Rosa Horne on November 18, 1938, in Americus, Georgia. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E) Church in Havana Florida and faithfully served on the usher board. She later became a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist (M.B.) Church under the pastorage of the late Reverend William M. Maxwell in Havana, Florida. She continued to develop a strong love for the Lord that emanated throughout the remainder of her life.

Mother Harrison received her formal education in the public schools of Gadsden County and was employed for many years as a culinary professional at Pine Park Elementary School, Arbors of Tallahassee, and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She found extreme joy in preparing meals and watching her loved ones and friends indulge in her tasty cuisines.

On October 3rd, 1959, Mother Harrison united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Reverend Mose Harrison. Their union and sacred bond developed into a beautiful family including their ten cherished children. Their partnership embodied love, devotion, and faith. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories and family connections.

She served faithfully alongside her husband in various ministries throughout her life. She was a member of Middle Florida-Georgia, Old West and South-Georgia Primitive Baptist (P.B.) Associations. She graciously served as First Lady of Zion Hope, New Bethaven, Saint Luke, Shady Grove, Pilgrim Rest and New Mount Zion Primitive P.B. churches. She also served many years as Vice President of the Women's Congress in South Georgia. She was a member of the New Hickory Hill P. B. Church under the pastorage of her son, Elder Dr. Dale Harrison, where she faithfully served on the Mothers' Board until her passing.

Mother Harrison loved traveling to the National and State Church Conventions. She was fashionable, stylish, and known for her flamboyant church hats and sharp attire. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching soap operas and conversing specifically about, "The Bold & the Beautiful" and "The Young & the Restless." She loved Facetiming and scrolling Facebook to stay connected to her loved ones and friends. Her love of cooking will forever live on in the endless memories of those she fed, whether it was a stranger, family member, or friend.

Mother Harrison will always be remembered for her compassion, welcoming spirit, contagious smile, kind heart and love for all humankind. Her generosity was expressed through feeding and ensuring those in need were never without.

In the early morning of Friday, April 25th, 2025, Mother Freddie Mae Harrison accepted the Master's call into eternal rest.
