Michael Jerome Jackson aka "MJ, gone too soon, Michael departed this life on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Tallahassee Memorial Health.  He was born in Bainbridge, Georgia and raised in Amsterdam, Georgia, until the age of six. He was the last of eight children between the late Jimmie Lee Jackson, Sr. and Willie Esther Derico Wright (both preceded him in death).

Michael later moved to Havana, Florida with his family in 1975.  He attended Gadsden County Schools. He played football with the Havana Gladiators and graduated from Havana Northside High School; Class of 1989.  He loved and enjoyed time with family and friends. He was not a standup comedian but he had a way of making you laugh, even if you didn't feel like laughing. He also enjoyed cooking and at times was even considered to be the family chef. He really seemed to have paid much attention to his mother when in the kitchen.  Michael held a number of jobs with various companies including Evans Lawn Care, Peavy Asphalt Construction Company, Florida Fencing Company and several others.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Jamaya Jonaye Jackson and two grandchildren, Jah'lil and Ja'Ziah of Tallahassee, FL; six sisters, Annette Wright, Gloria Ann Jackson-Willis, Barbara Ann, Casandra, Agnes and Joyce Ann Jackson, all of Havana, FL; four brothers; James E.
