Ja'Quay Anaya
Miller
Sep 16, 1993 — Jan 9, 2025
Orlando
JaQuay Anaya Miller, born September 16, 1993, was a beaming ray of sunshine to her parents Minnie Jenkins and Adam Miller. That beam of light and big, beautiful smile brightened any room and heart she entered throughout her lifetime.
At a young age, JaQuay accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was an active youth member at Rich Bay African Methodist Episcopal Church in Havana, Fla. JaQuay boldly and openly expressed her love for God. She served in the Youth Department as an usher, a choir member, praise team dancer, and youth speaker at many special events.
As a child, JaQuay was very inquisitive and adventurous. She soared through the Gadsden County School system, graduating with honors and grace from East Gadsden High School in the Class of 2012. A high-spirited teen, she participated on dance teams and cheerleading squads throughout her senior year.
JaQuay continued her education at Tallahassee Community College and matriculated to the "highest of seven hills" Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.
While attending FAMU, she was a hardworking student facing obstacles and adversities. Yet, she stood strong holding to her faith while maintaining honor status. She was inducted in the Beta Zeta Phi Alpha Honor Society and was a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers. She had the heart of a servant, and when time permitted, she volunteered at the American Cancer Society and Rich Bay Strivers Relay for Life in Havana.
With her degree in hand, JaQuay relocated to Orlando, Fla. to begin her career in social work. She landed a job in Orange County at UCP Middle/High School Transitioning Learning Academy. JaQuay was loved and adored by her students and colleagues, who affectionately called her Ms. "J".
JaQuay's captivating personality accompanied her sense of style. She was very passionate about everything she did, especially in fashion, makeup, hair, photography, and service. She did it all BIG and with her big smile. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends, who loved her deeply.
God's arms opened wide on Thursday, January 9, 2025, to receive our beautiful angel, JaQuay. Her loving memories will be forever cherished by her parents Minnie Jenkins and Adam Miller, fiancé Fidel Cedano, maternal grandmother Dorothy Jenkins, sister Glenda (Morris) Drew, brother Richard Miller, godparents Patricia Daniels, Iristine Powell-Brown, William and Michelle Barkley, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, two nephews, god siblings, a bonus mom Leonor Cedano, and the Cedano family.
