Gregory Van Carter was born December 10, 1966, to Gloria Dean Sutton and the Late Matthew Carter Sr.

Gregory attended Havana Northside High School and graduated in May of 1984. He developed a love for music and played the trumpet. Gregory further his education by attending Lively Technical College where he took drafting courses. He was a Master Drywall Finisher.

Gregory accepted Christ at an early age, he was Baptized & a member of the St. James Primitive Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 431.

He is survived by his loving mother: Gloria Sutton Crawford (Dillard) of Havana, Florida; Stepmother: Lorine Carter; siblings: Elder Craig E Sutton Sr., Matthew Carter Jr., Quinton Carter (Tyrra) of Tallahassee, Florida; stepbrother: Willard Crawford Sr. of Orlando, Florida; Aunts: Dorothy Richardson of Havana, Florida, Minnie Jones of Cairo, Georgia, Mary Simmons of Atlanta, Georgia, Irene Jefferson , Sarah Smith (Bob), Ezell Deshazier & Willie Mae Ward (Ronnie) all of Tallahassee, Florida; One Uncle: Jerry Carter (Brenda); One great aunt: Ella Gordon of Columbus, Georgia; One great uncle: John Jordan II of Havana, Florida and a Host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
